  3. Clean the separate grinder according to its own manual.
  4. Inspect removable seals and the power lead for visible damage.
05

When prompted

  1. Run cleaning and descaling programs only with the product and sequence approved for the exact model.

  3. Replace water filters and user-serviceable seals at the specified interval.
  4. Record error codes or light patterns before contacting support.

Problem library

9 common symptoms.
Safe checks first.

Work through the steps in order. A maintenance label means cleaning or a user-serviceable check may be due. Authorised-service labels mark problems where continued use can be unsafe.

01Machine will not turn onquick check+

No lights, display or response from the controls.

LIKELY CAUSES
  • Power point, plug or lead issue
  • Machine power switch or standby state
  • Protection mode after overheating
SAFE CHECKS · IN ORDER
  1. Switch the machine off and unplug it.
  2. Check the lead and plug for visible damage. Do not use the machine if either is damaged.
  3. Test the wall outlet with another low-risk appliance and avoid overloaded power boards.
  4. Let the machine cool for at least 30 minutes, then reconnect it directly to the wall outlet.
  5. Follow the official manual's power-on or standby sequence.
SUCCESS CHECK

The machine powers on normally without heat, smell, sparking or repeated shutdown.

02No water or very little watermaintenance+

The pump runs but little or no water reaches the cup.

LIKELY CAUSES
  • Empty or incorrectly seated tank
  • Air trapped after the tank ran dry
  • Scale or coffee residue restricting flow
  • Capsule path or head is blocked
SAFE CHECKS · IN ORDER
  1. Switch off and let the machine cool before removing parts.
  2. Fill the tank with fresh water and seat it firmly, checking any tank valve moves freely.
  3. Remove coffee, capsule or portafilter and try the manufacturer's plain-water or rinse cycle.
  4. Clean only the removable outlet parts identified in the official manual.
  5. If the machine has a priming procedure, follow the exact model instructions.
  6. If flow remains restricted, run the manufacturer-approved descale program only when the manual says it is appropriate.
SUCCESS CHECK

A plain-water cycle runs evenly, without unusual pump noise or leakage.

03Coffee is not hot enoughquick check+

The drink is cooler than expected or loses heat quickly.

LIKELY CAUSES
  • Cup and brew path are cold
  • Machine has not fully preheated
  • Large cold milk volume
  • Scale affecting heat transfer
  • Temperature setting changed
SAFE CHECKS · IN ORDER
  1. Allow the complete preheat or ready sequence to finish.
  2. Warm the cup with hot water and discard it before brewing.
  3. Run the official blank rinse if the manual recommends one.
  4. Check the saved temperature setting where available.
  5. Use the prompted descale program if it is due; do not improvise a descaling recipe.
SUCCESS CHECK

The machine reaches its normal ready state and repeat drinks are consistently hotter.

04Water is leakingauthorised service+

Water appears under, behind or around the machine.

Stop using the machine if electrical safety is uncertain.

Do not restart a machine with smoke, burning smells, sparking, a damaged lead or water near electrical parts.

LIKELY CAUSES
  • Tank or drip tray is overfilled or incorrectly seated
  • Removable seal or connection is dirty
  • Internal hose, valve or boiler leak
SAFE CHECKS · IN ORDER
  1. Switch off at the controls, then at the wall, and unplug if it is safe to do so.
  2. Let the machine cool and dry the bench completely.
  3. Inspect and reseat only the removable tank, drip tray and external accessories.
  4. Check whether the water returns with a plain-water cycle while you remain beside the machine.
  5. If water appears from the body, near the lead, or beneath the machine again, stop using it and arrange authorised service.
SUCCESS CHECK

No water returns after the removable parts are correctly seated. Any internal or electrical-area leak requires service.

05Unusual noise, burning smell or smokeauthorised service+

The machine sounds mechanically abnormal or produces an electrical or burning smell.

Stop using the machine if electrical safety is uncertain.

Do not restart a machine with smoke, burning smells, sparking, a damaged lead or water near electrical parts.

LIKELY CAUSES
  • Foreign material or jam
  • Pump running dry
  • Motor, heater or electrical fault
  • Internal leak reaching electrical components
SAFE CHECKS · IN ORDER
  1. Stop the cycle immediately.
  2. Switch off at the machine and wall outlet. Unplug only if it is safe to approach.
  3. Do not restart, open the casing or pour water into the machine.
  4. Check Product Safety Australia for a recall and contact the manufacturer or an authorised service agent with the model and serial number.
SUCCESS CHECK

Do not use the machine again until the manufacturer or an authorised technician confirms it is safe.

06Capsule coffee does not flowmaintenance+

The machine starts but produces little or no coffee.

LIKELY CAUSES
  • Water tank is empty or not seated
  • Used capsule remains in the head
  • Capsule is damaged or incompatible
  • Outlet or capsule head needs rinsing
  • Air or scale is restricting flow
SAFE CHECKS · IN ORDER
  1. Eject the previous capsule and inspect the new capsule for damage.
  2. Fill and firmly reseat the tank.
  3. Close and lock the head exactly as shown in the manual.
  4. Run a no-capsule rinse using the model-specific sequence.
  5. Use only the capsule format designed for this machine.
  6. If flow remains restricted, follow the official descale procedure.
SUCCESS CHECK

A rinse and then a new compatible capsule brew at the expected volume without leakage.

07Light is blinking or the machine will not startquick check+

A coloured or repeating light pattern prevents brewing.

LIKELY CAUSES
  • Head is unlocked
  • Previous capsule was not ejected
  • Tank is empty
  • Heat-up, cleaning or descaling state
  • Model-specific fault code
SAFE CHECKS · IN ORDER
  1. Do not guess the meaning of a colour or blink count—it differs by model.
  2. Eject the previous capsule, fill the tank and lock the head completely.
  3. Allow the heat-up or automatic process to finish.
  4. Match the exact light pattern in the official model guide or app.
  5. If the pattern indicates a fault or returns after the documented reset, contact manufacturer support.
SUCCESS CHECK

The ready light becomes steady and the machine completes a plain-water rinse.

08Coffee leaks into the capsule binmaintenance+

Coffee bypasses the cup or collects inside the used-capsule area.

LIKELY CAUSES
  • Capsule is damaged or incompatible
  • Capsule rim or head is dirty
  • Head is not fully locked
  • Internal seal or piercing assembly is damaged
SAFE CHECKS · IN ORDER
  1. Switch off and let the head cool before opening it.
  2. Discard the capsule and wipe only accessible surfaces with a damp cloth.
  3. Do not touch sharp piercing parts.
  4. Test with a new compatible capsule and correct locking motion.
  5. If internal leakage continues, stop using the machine and contact support.
SUCCESS CHECK

Coffee exits only from the outlet and the capsule bin remains normally dry.

09Integrated milk system is not frothingmaintenance+

Milk output is flat, intermittent or absent.

LIKELY CAUSES
  • Milk components are not fully clean
  • Air inlet or tube is blocked
  • Carafe is incorrectly assembled
  • Milk is too warm
SAFE CHECKS · IN ORDER
  1. Run the milk rinse after every milk drink.
  2. When cool, disassemble only the user-removable milk parts shown in the manual.
  3. Clean, rinse and fully dry each air and milk passage.
  4. Reassemble carefully and test with refrigerated milk.
  5. Replace worn removable seals only with approved parts.
SUCCESS CHECK

Milk flows evenly and the system completes its rinse without an error.
